Dr. Jonathan Hoke

Assistant Professor at the University of Münster, Germany

I help researchers get causal inference right. My work centers on making complex econometric methods, such as the Heckman two-stage estimation and control function approach, accessible and practical. This allows empirical studies in management, innovation, and information systems to withstand methodological scrutiny.

Statistics Lab Münster

Together with Prof. Dr. David Bendig, I created the Statistics Lab to tackle a problem we kept seeing: researchers misapplying complex econometric techniques like the Heckman two-stage estimation and ITCV analysis. The Lab provides step-by-step guides that help scholars detect and correct endogeneity bias — regardless of their statistical background.

Academic Position

Institute for Entrepreneurship

At the Institute for Entrepreneurship, I bring quantitative rigor to innovation and strategy research. My role sits at the intersection of econometric methodology and entrepreneurship scholarship — helping the institute's research meet the highest standards of causal identification and empirical design.
